About the photographer
Possessing Briton, rural, oceanic, and musical origins, coupled with two Nikon boxes, Didier HOUEIX is a photographer. And he never ceases to capture the presence, the beauty and the fragility of light, with his Black and Whites or with his Colours, in a style filled of sensibility, where Man finds his place.
When he was 10 years old, a Voigtländer, coming from Berlin in his father’s suitcase, guides his look towards the Briton’s meadows and shores. His training as a photographer done, Didier HOUEIX joined the French Navy and animated the photographic club of the Navy in Brest. He created two magazines, «Pays de Bretagne» and «Celtics».
His work becomes richer with his travels across Europe… The Highlands, the Hebrides, the Jutland, Sweden, the Asturias, the Aragon, Lake District, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Wales, the Netherlands… France, which he likes a lot and, above all, Italy and Ireland, an interesting mix of climate and humanity.
Newspaper journalist and reporter — GÉO magazine, GÉO Ado, Terre Sauvage, Moto journal, Neptune Yachting, Moteur boat, Cheval Pratique, Destination, Voile magazine, Bretagne Magazine, Télérama, Ar Men, Pays de France, Terre de Bretagne, L’éventail, Vivre Ici, Sciences et Nature, Multicoques mag, Les cahiers de la BD, Voyageur un esprit d’ailleurs, Nous Vous Ille… — he likes to embark on board of anything that floats: morning trunks, Venetian taxis, cargo ships… He transports his readers in the North sea, in the Hebrides, or on board submarines in the Mediterranean Sea. Didier HOUEIX lives in Brittany.
